Getting Ahead While Getting Out The Getting Ahead While Getting Out program is an evidence-based program using a comprehensive process that includes: All phases of re-entry - pre-release, transition, and long-term post-release Offenders taking responsibility for future plans and actions before and after release Participation of families, correctional personnel, volunteers, and community stakeholders Identifying and building up financial, social, personal, and occupational resources It is a reentry model providing citizens returning from incarceration and their families a comprehensive, community- and relationship-based approach to reentry that begins in pre-release and follows through with long-term support. While we have not implemented this curriculum in our community, we are interested in finding community partners to host these classes.
